Theo Jansen is a Dutch artist. In 1990, he began what he is known for today: building large mechanisms out of PVC that are able to move on their own, known only as Strandbeest. Theo has wholeheartedly devoted himself to creating what he calls a new form of life. These creations only need wind to survive.  Somehow his imagination and technical knowledge turned plastic yellow tubes into graceful beach faring creatures.
